Pass, Check and Fix
- Pass — meets every rule we know for that slot.
- Check — probably fine but worth a look: a missing transparent background where it’s only recommended, or a flashing count over Twitch’s rule.
- Fix — the upload form will refuse it: wrong size, too big, wrong format or too many frames.
Each row lists the exact numbers so you know what to change.

Where the limits come from
Twitch Help (animated emotes, emote guidelines, subscriber badges), Discord Support (emoji and stickers), WhatsApp’s sticker repository and Telegram’s sticker import docs. 7TV and BetterTTV values are commonly used numbers; check their upload pages for changes. The full table with links is on the home page and in the guides.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions
What does the emote checker test?
Dimensions, file size, format, frame count, transparency and, for animated Twitch emotes, flashing — against Twitch, Discord, 7TV, BetterTTV, WhatsApp and Telegram limits.
Why does my file pass one platform and fail another?
Each slot has its own rules: a 128 px GIF is right for Discord and wrong for a Twitch manual upload. Look only at the rows for where you’re uploading.
How is flashing measured?
We compare the average brightness of neighbouring frames and count sharp back-and-forth changes in any one second of the loop. More than three gets a Check.
Are the limits up to date?
They were last checked on 2026-11-06, with links to the official pages where they exist. Values platforms don’t publish are marked as common values.
Is my file uploaded?
No. The check runs in your browser.
Can it fix the problems it finds?
Use the Twitch or Discord resizer for sizes and bytes; for everything at once, the generator exports files that already pass.
