VTuber emotes

VTuber EmotesFrom your model art, in chibi or anime.

VTuber Emotes takes your existing model art — or designs a new avatar from a short brief — and makes chibi or anime-style animated emotes, sub badges and a matching PNGTuber set from one locked character sheet, so new VTubers get a full launch kit without a rigging budget.

For new VTubers

A launch kit before the Live2D money

A rigged Live2D model is a big commission. Most new VTubers start somewhere smaller: a static PNG of their character, then emotes, then a PNGTuber, then a model when the channel justifies it. The emotes are often the first thing viewers see in chat and the last thing that gets made.

Upload your reference sheet or a clean front view of your model. Pick Chibi cartoon or Anime. You get a character sheet you confirm, then emotes, badges and a talking PNGTuber in the same style.

Why chibi

Chibi emotes read better at 28 px

Big head, small body, oversized expression: chibi proportions are almost designed for emotes. Eyes and mouth carry the emotion, and they are the parts that survive being shrunk to 28 px. The Chibi style chip restyles once on the sheet and keeps it for everything after.

  • Hype: jumps with fists up, sparkles.
  • Love: hugs itself while hearts float up.
  • Sleep: nods off with floating Z’s — the classic “BRB”.
  • Think: rubs the chin, eyes up.

PNGTuber bridge

Talk with your character this week

The PNGTuber module gives you idle, talking, blink and blink-talking states on one canvas, plus mood sets (happy, angry, sad, surprised). Test it with your mic in the browser, then load it into veadotube mini or PNGTuber Plus. It’s not a rigged model — it’s a convincing stand-in until you have one.

A VTuber starter set

What to make first, in order

  1. 1
    Character sheet

Upload your model’s front view, pick Chibi or Anime, confirm the sheet (2 credits).

  2. 2
    Six emotes

Hi, Love, LOL, Sad, Hype and Sleep cover most of chat (6 credits).

  3. 3
    PNGTuber

Four states for talking on stream before you have a rigged model (1 credit).

  4. 4
    Sub badges

Six tiers with your character’s face (1 credit).

  5. 5
    Channel kit

Offline screen and panels so your channel page matches (2–4 credits).

That’s 12–14 credits, so the 15-credit Starter pack covers a launch. Add stickers for your Discord and a character card PDF for your future Live2D artist at no extra cost.

Lore

Give your avatar a voice

VTubers live on personality. Use the catchphrase and personality line on the workbench; they print on the character card and help an artist or a mod team keep your voice consistent. Holiday outfits become separate versions, which is handy for seasonal lore streams.

Working with artists

Use it alongside your artist, not instead of them

Plenty of VTubers use AI emotes for the fast, everyday reactions and commission a human artist for signature pieces. The character card PDF — views, expressions, palette hex codes — is a handy brief for that artist, and it’s free to export.

Limits

Respect your artist

If your model was designed by an artist, check your commission terms before turning it into emotes: some artists include emote rights, some don’t. Our terms require that you own the character or have permission.

Complex designs (many accessories, intricate hair ornaments) lose detail in emotes. That’s also true of hand-drawn emotes; simplify on the sheet if needed.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Can I use my existing VTuber model art?

Yes, if you own the design or have your artist’s permission. Upload a clean front view; side and full-body views help.

Do I need a Live2D model?

No. The emotes and PNGTuber set are made from images; no rigging involved.

Which style should I choose?

Chibi for emotes that read at 28 px, Anime to stay closer to typical model art, Keep my style to follow your picture exactly.

Can I get expression sets?

Yes: PNGTuber mood sets for happy, angry, sad and surprised, 1 credit each.

Do the emotes work on YouTube?

Yes. They are plain GIFs and PNGs; YouTube member emojis have their own size rules, which the larger files cover.

Can I design a VTuber from scratch here?

Yes. Use “Design a character for me” and choose Human or Creature with the Anime style.

How much for a starter kit?

Sheet 2, eight emotes 8, PNGTuber 1, sub badges 1: 12 credits, about $6 on the 40-credit pack.

Will it match my model exactly?

Closely, not pixel for pixel. Lock the sheet only when it matches; redo it if not.

Can I make emotes for YouTube memberships?

The files are standard PNG and GIF. Check YouTube’s current size rules for member emoji; the larger exports usually cover them.

Do I need to credit Animated Emote Maker?

No credit is required. A public character page shows a small “Made with Animated Emote Maker” line only if you choose to share it.
